Vidreno On Demand lets you sell or rent a film directly to your audience from your own film page. You set the prices, Vidreno handles checkout, delivery and access, and your share of every sale lands in the same earnings balance you already use for payouts.

On Demand is included on every plan, including Free. There's no extra subscription and no separate seller account to set up.

How it works

  1. Create a film in the On Demand area of your dashboard and upload the main film, a poster, and (optionally) a trailer.

  2. Set a buy price, a rent price, or both.

  3. Publish. You get a shareable film page with Buy and Rent buttons.

  4. A viewer pays by card through Vidreno's checkout. Access is granted automatically the moment the payment is confirmed.

  5. 90% of each sale is credited to your earnings; Vidreno keeps a 10% platform fee. Card processing is included in that fee, so there's nothing else deducted.

Setting up a film

Open On Demand in the sidebar and click Add a movie. A film stays in Draft until you publish it, and a checklist on the film page shows anything still missing.

Required before you can publish

  • Title

  • Poster / cover art (portrait)

  • The main film video

  • At least one price (buy or rent)

Optional details

  • Synopsis, director and cast

  • Backdrop image (a wide, landscape image used behind the film page header and as the player poster). If you don't add one, a Vidreno-branded default backdrop is shown instead, so the page never looks unfinished.

  • Trailer video (always free to watch)

  • Release year, runtime and genre

  • IMDb link, plus any number of extra labelled links (official website, press kit, and so on)

  • Comments on or off

Film and trailer uploads go through the same uploader as normal videos, so the same supported formats and large-file tips apply.

Pricing and rentals

  • Prices are in USD and the minimum for either option is $1.00.

  • You can offer buy only, rent only, or both.

  • A purchase gives the viewer permanent access.

  • A rental has a viewing window that you choose when you set the price (for example 48 hours). The clock starts the first time the viewer presses play, not at the moment they pay, so nobody loses rental time by buying ahead.

  • You can change prices at any time. Existing purchases and active rentals aren't affected.

Your public film page

Every film has a public page at https://vidreno.com/films/<id>. Share that link anywhere. It shows:

  • Your poster and backdrop, title, credits and synopsis

  • Your external links

  • A Watch trailer button that plays the trailer in the normal Vidreno player

  • Buy and Rent buttons with your prices

  • A comments section, if you've turned comments on. Signed-in viewers can comment and you can delete any comment on your own films.

Pasting the link into social media or a chat app produces a rich preview card with your poster, in the same way as a normal video link. See How rich previews work on social media.

What buyers experience

Viewers don't need an existing Vidreno account.

  1. They click Buy or Rent and enter their email address. No password is needed.

  2. They pay by card on Vidreno's secure checkout (locked to that email).

  3. As soon as the payment is confirmed, they receive a "Your film is ready" email with a sign-in link.

  4. They sign in using a one-time link or a 6-digit code sent to that email, and the film plays in the Vidreno player.

Buyers get a simple My Films view listing their purchases and active rentals, with their purchase history and account settings. To watch again on another device, they just sign in with the same email.

If a buyer already has a Vidreno account (creator or advertiser), the film is added to their existing account and a My Films section appears in their dashboard.

Earnings and payouts

  • Your 94% share is credited to your earnings as soon as the payment is confirmed.

  • The Earn page shows film sales as a separate line so you can see them apart from ad earnings.

  • Film earnings are paid out through the same payout method and request flow as your other earnings. Nothing extra to configure.

  • If a payment is refunded, the buyer's access is removed and the matching earning is reversed.

Bandwidth, storage and access control

  • Playback of your films and trailers does not count against your plan's monthly bandwidth, and a bandwidth limit on your account will never stop a paying viewer from watching.

  • Film assets (the film, trailer and images) do count towards your storage limit, exactly like normal uploads. See Storage limits and quota warnings.

  • Full-film playback is restricted to the buyer or renter (and you, the owner). The trailer is public. There is no unrestricted direct link to the full film file.

If your account is suspended for a failed payment, your film pages remain visible but new purchases are paused until the account is back in good standing. Existing buyers keep their access throughout.

Frequently asked questions

Can I sell a film that's also in my normal library? Yes. A film's main video is a separate upload, so you can keep a public version of a different cut (or a trailer) in your library and sell the full film through On Demand.

Can I unpublish a film? Yes. Unpublishing hides the page from new buyers. Anyone who already bought or rented it keeps their access.

Can buyers download the film? No. Films are streamed in the Vidreno player only.

What currency are buyers charged in? Prices are set in USD. The buyer's bank handles conversion if their card is in another currency.
